About the Book

This book tells the story of a pair of Oriental white stork siblings born in Northeast China, who journey south to Hong Kong in search of a legendary wintering ground. Their migration follows the East Asian Australasian Flyway , one of the three major bird migration routes crossing China—and the easternmost path where most birds travel. This route also spans one of China’s most urbanized regions, making wetland conservation and restoration a critical focus in recent years. Innovatively narrated from the birds’ first-person perspective , the book uses a collage-style illustration to depict the storks’ migratory journey and human efforts in wetland protection. By blending science, culture, and art within its layered visuals, it offers readers a fresh perspective on nature. We encourage readers to engage their imagination , uncover key elements in the landscapes, and recognize the hidden connections between species, environment, and humanlifes.
