果篮的浮沉

This work constructs a multifunctional landscape installation— standable, sittable, and playable —from recycled everyday materials, reimagining the connection between ecology and society. The modular fruit Baskets recreate the shape of historical floating farmlands of Haizhu Wetland. Through plant collection and story exchange , the piece fosters interaction between local communities and park visitors, redefining the wetland’s "materiality" and "temporality." The plants displayed— including native edible species like jasmine and sorrel—were gathered from Xiaozhou Village residents, reflecting Guangzhou’s unique botanical culture. Visitors not only learn stories linking plants and people but can also adopt a sapling to plant in the crates.
Fruit baskets , though man-made, were once vital to the orchard economy: as fruit transporters, market displays, and stall foundations. The faded logos printed on each crate evoke memories of past vendors. By juxtaposing artificial objects with nature, the work invites reflection on production vs. livelihood, urbanity vs.ecology, and history vs. modernity . Overtime, the plants will grow freely, and story plaques left by visitors will gradually encircle the crates, further blurring the line between the human-made and the natural.
作品旨在通过回收日常材料,构建一个可站、可坐、可玩的多功能景观装 置,重构生态与社会的连接。我们通过果篮模块化组装,模拟了海珠漂浮农 田的历史景观。并通过植物收集与故事交换,增进周边社区与湿地公园访客 的互动,重构海珠湿地的“物质性”和“时间性”。装置上摆放的植物,均 由我们亲自向小洲村居民收集。其中包括了素馨花,酢浆草等本土可食用物 种,反映了广州独特的植物文化。每个到访者不仅可以了解社区居民与植物 的故事,还可以认领一株小果苗,亲手种植在果篮中。 果篮,虽是人造物,却是万亩果园经济生产的重要一环。它是运输水果的盒 子,是菜场售卖水果的陈列,也是整个水果摊位的支撑。每个果篮上印刷的 不同名字,也是水果店往事的浮现。该作品希望通过人造物与自然的对比, 来引导大众反思生产与生活、城市与生态、过去与当代缠绕的关系。随着时 间流逝,装置上的植物会自由生长,互动留下的故事木牌将逐渐环绕果篮四 周,进一步模糊人造物与自然的边界。
